I am getting messages about not being able to reference or something to __builtin_vec*.

Couldn't find any info on it.

Anyone have any ideas?

If you are in the dynamic install portion, you can prolly just cheat a little and use slack tgz files - www.linuxmafia.org (http://www.linuxmafia.org) . There were 2 or 4 packages I could never get to compile.

On that note, when I started doing that (I had a 95% done lfs2.2 system), I said "fsck it" and got Slackware 7.0, and have been happy as a clam ever since. Although when I get twin cpus (someone mail my wife and drop a hint please), I plan on doing a Slack .src.tgz LFS system all for smp.

Although I would post on the LFS mailing list/newsgroup/irc if you want to do it by scratch Gerrard or someone else may have a answer.

Thanks for the reply!

I was out on #lfs and nobody could help.

I am about to give up on it. If I decide to cheat, I will just install a whole distro. It is not worth the time for me.

I was hoping this go around would be fruitfull but it wasn't. Oh well!

My problem is that I can't settle on one distro( I have tried them all and I mean ALL). I am a self proclaimed distro $lut! I wanted to add LFS to the repertoire but I guess it isn't gonna be so.

Well, cheat a few more times (until you get done with init and all that sorta stuff), then install just the a & d disk sets from Slack and do the rest of the thing on your own.
