I've tried installing Mandrake 8.2 and 9.0 Beta3 on a MSI 6380 motherboard with an Adaptec 2940 U2W SCSI card. I have tried booting from the CD drive (both SCSI and IDE), booting from a floppy and installing from the CD drive (SCSI and IDE) and booting from a floppy and installing from the hard drive (SCSI). The installation gets to where it installs the drivers for the adaptec card and then shuts down (video goes blank and installation stops). The SCSI drives work fine during installation until it reaches the point where it's installing the adaptec drivers. The last thing I see on the screen before it goes dead is something about the Adaptec AHA2940 for an instant and then nothing.
