If you use Opera go get 6.03. It was released yesterday and includes bugfixes for OpenSSL vunerabilities.

I've moved away from Opera recently after discovering Galeon...but post your findings on it's java compatibility...might be nice to install it again.

sorry tim for the delay but ya opera with java is still hopeless regardless of what the support area says trust me I've been trying to get java to work in opera for years :) it also can't run any of my codeweavers plugins and all my other browsers can flawlessly

What for example is the problem with java and opera?

I don't seem to have a problem looking at any sites including ones with java. I have it set so it is identified as IE5 and all works fine.

Yahoo games works for me.
ESPN Live Game applets work for me.
Some sites need Flash Player to launch their java applets.

In opera make sure you don't have "refuse popup windows" checked.
The java applet is a popup window. This screwed me for hours I'm sorry to say.

If you follow Opera's and Sun's instructions you should be successful.

Good Luck,

well I guess I gave up too quickly all those previous times this time I played with it for a bit and read the docs more carefully and java works fine now yahoo games and espn live game applets included :) however all my codeweavers plugins wont work but that's no big deal (dont know if you're familar with codeweavers using their program I got quicktime, windows media,a word viewer and so on to work in other browsers) opera when trying to view quicktime for some reason loads xine and not the quicktime player so Im gonna tinker around with that for a while now but like I said that's no big deal since my other browsers can handle it.

Thanks for the post. I just downloaded Opera for the first time and it rules. Much faster on this old computer than Netscape or IE6.
