hey,
Does anyone know of a pagemaker (or Quark) equivalent for linux? Preferably one that ouputs files compatible with pagemaker 6.5-7.0.
I HATE having to go to windows for this stuff.
thanks in advance,

Maybe if you stated what job you are attempting to do rather than some Windows program I have never used, I could help you.
More info, better answers.

:) I'll have to remember that one.
Of course if I add

to my signature, I'll just end up being flamed as I usually do.

Look into LaTeX.

Check out:
Scribus (http://web2.altmuehlnet.de/fschmid/)
I don't know if it does the PageMaker format, but I belive it's one of the best DTP programs for Linux.

You were one of the LNO members that took my sig for what it was meant to be. A helpful link to hopefully find answers to any kind of Linux related problems.
It's a pity that some complained that I was forcing them to search themselves or insinuating that they shouldn't bother posting questions at LNO, but instead search for their answer.
Some just expect US to do the seaching for them and then post the answer. I certainly don't need the practice.
You would be surpised on the number of Linux users that have never even heard of Google for Linux.
I rarely have problems with my distro, but if I do, I usually always use Google for Linux. Actually in the 2.5 years I've been a member of LNO, I've never posted a question. Only answered.
Search first - (never) ask second. ;)
Pity isn't it? Too many complaints, so I just removed my entire signature.

Good! Now maybe some of use can say it!! :D Seriously though, I don't see why people would be offended by it. I can see if you searched and didn't find anything then posting, or posting just to ask if others have a problem, but after my first couiple posts, I've searched google for pretty much every problem I've had...cut down on my posts considerably...I've actually had to start spending time in /dev/random in order to keep getting posts, since I don't really have an awful lot of questions left. Well, at least not questions that I'm actively trying to get answered.

I've actually had some that get really upset if I suggest a search even though I know the answer is there.
Some expect us to do the searching and then post the results/solutions for them to read.
They post their questions, twiddle their thumbs while waiting for us to search for the answer and hand it to them on a silver platter.
It's really hot here today and now I'm going to have to put on my flame retardant suit. :D
Seriously though, I don't mind helping wherever I can. but I do expect the person asking to continue looking for a solution while they are waiting for someone to respond to their question.
