DNS benchmarks

I was wondering if there was an application to test to see how quick/slow a dns server is responding. I am using my ISP provided DNS server and wondering if it would be quicker/better to setup and use my own DNS server. Any opinoins would be appreciated.

use your isp's dns server.

your isp probably won't allow you to set up your own "real" dns server so all your dns server would be doing is forwarding dns requests to your sip's dns box.

They will I am on a WFO (wide f*ing open) T1 through ATT but I think its slow... I want to see if their performance ideas are parallel to my own.

cool, try it then. i wish my isp would allow it. atm, my server is just forwarding requests to my isp :(

i doubt you wil notice much of a difference tho.
