I'm trying to install QT 3.0.5 from Trolltech. I dloaded the file as a tar.gz file. I decompressed, unpacked it and followed all instructions. I configured it and now I'm running the make command. Do I have to run 'make install'? I've done it before and it goes for like 10 minutes and halts with errors. I've read the INSTALL file and it says that you only need to use 'make install' if you're installing to different folders (or something simmilar), do I need to do anything after the 'make' command? Also, how do I check if it's properly installed?

PS. Does the make of QT really take this long?
Thx in advance

Did you not try the RPM or do you just like to compile yourself? Trolltech advises running thr RPM of your distro. Here is a wealth of info......
