ok, i really need some help on this one...

i've got my boot disks all organized and i can get into the setup part, but when it asks to select the information source, it screws up... it asks for the drive then directory, and i enter them... i have the slack files on my windows D: drive, so i enter /dev/hdb1 (which is correct..) and it says "what dir?" so i tried:
d:\slackware\slakware
d:\slackware\Slakware
\slackware\slakware
\slackware\Slakware
/slackware/slakware
/slackware/Slakware
and others too...
what might my problem be?

Does the initial install have support for vfat so to access your win partition?

Phuzon is correct.

for drive, you are correct - /dev/hdb1
for dir, Phuzon is correct - slackware/slakware

This should work.

What you can also do is mount /dev/hdb1 on /mnt/win(you may need to create the dir /mnt/win) and then select to install from a directory and then just enter /mnt/win/slackware or /mnt/win/slackware/slakware. I can't remember if this option requires the slakware dir or not but one of them will work. This is how I installed slaack 7 on an old laptop that didn't have a cdrom. I installed it from my sparq drive.
