When I'm playing my audio CD's in KsCD, I hear sound and it plays lovely. But when I try to play mp3's, TuxRacer, or run any other applications that requires sound, there is no sound.

My sound card is a Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer 5.1

Have a look at your mixer settings, kmix or whatever you are using. Look at the sliders for PCM, they may well be low or muted.

carlywarly, thanks for the input, the problem was I forgot to turn "PNP OS" on in my system BIOS so it was trying to use both my On-Board and Sound Blaster Live! sound devices at the same time.

When I turned that on and booted my system back up Linux automatically asked me if I wanted to remove that device and reset settings and I hit yes and reconffigured KMix in Linux and it works fine now. :)
