Hi, I have a PIII 500, 128 megs Ram, Asus v3800 video card 20Gb HDD. I want to install Linux Mandrake 7.2(I am fed up of Windows. I boot up my puter and can only get to the instal part(setup file system) which informs that 'Drax will now resize your partition' click OK or CANCEL. Problem is that my puter hangs and I can't click OK, although my mouse is still working I have to reboot, tried it a few times still happens, would appreciate any help guys ...thanx

have you tried installing in text mode
Do you have free space on your drive or is windows using it all?
Do you have Partition Magic?
If so, you could use that to create a Linux Partition and then install Drake on that. I know my copy of Drake 7.0 came with Partition Magic disk. It worked great. Also you may be able to download fips.exe and resize your windows partition. I have installed Drake about 6 times now and haven't had a problem, although I have always had free disk space before I started.
May not be your problem, just a thought. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

I installed Boxed version of Mandrake 7.2 and had some problems untill I went in Bios and disabled PnP OS (or something like that) Alot of my hardware was not detected until I did this.
