I was reading the security NHF and I accidently ran this command.

Then I read that this only allows root to login. That's definitely NOT what I wanted to do.

How do I undo this?

Is it as simple as just deleting /etc/nologin?

Help is appreciated!

I walked away from my computer and the screensaver came on and I was locked out!

That really sucked.

So in desperation I did the Ctrl-Alt-F2 thing (whatever that's called) and deleted /etc/nologin.

This shouldn't be a problem, should it?

No, deleting the nologin file is the proper thing to do, assuming you want regular users to be able to login...
