Hi,

Is it OK to install Red Hat on my secondary HD or does it need to be on the primary HD? I want to put it on the secondary so it conflict with Windows at all. Also on my secondary HD there's already all my MP3's there. Will there be a problem if I install Red Hat on the HD if there is data already there? Thanks

You can try. I tried to put Slack on /dev/hdb1 but it did not work at all. this file system got all contorted. he he it did try to boot, and error msgs up too numerous to mention. have fun tho.

You shouldn't have any problems installing RH linux to your secondary drive. Most likely you have your entire drive partitions for windows and therefore you will have to repartition it to make room for linux. Partition Magic works good but if you don't have it there are free linux tools like parted or fips. You will not lose any existing data but just in case always back up.

When installing use the expert mode. Then you can create the new partitions as desired.
