Hi there,
I am new to linux and computers and I have a query regarding to the installation of Linux.
Recently, I have downloaded the Mandrake 7.2 image file (Mandrake72-inst.iso) and burn it to a CD but I found that the extension of this file is *.iso instead of *.img. However, my computer fail to bootup even I set the bios to boot from CD-Rom. I am wondering if I have miss any steps or files in order to get it works??? Appreciate for any reply. thx.

You need software to convert the ISO to a regulaur CD (lost of words to explain). EZ CD Creator for a windows machine. Check out http://www.linux-mandrake.com/howtos/iso/howtoisoen.html and it will explain in more detail. There are other ways, do a search on ISO at LNO. I think there are post about this situation and ways to burn ISO's
