Maximumlinux magazine published an article on this but I threw it away. Can ne1 help? Thanks in advance. Xprotocol 08-04-2001, 04:36 PM 2600 Magazine (http://www.2600.com) also had an article about installing a computer in your car. I also started a similar post a while ago in the off topic forum. I'd give you a link but even after doing a good search I can't seem to find it. Anyways, there really shouldn't be too much to it. Fondor 08-04-2001, 05:15 PM i cant find anything on their website. they have no search feature. Xprotocol 08-04-2001, 09:55 PM Well, they don't have the article on their website, you have to buy the magazine ;). I might look through them tonight and see which issue its in. wurmy 08-06-2001, 04:20 AM this looks really interesting....if you guys find any more information out about please post it...or email me if you feel so inclined. wurmy ansivirus 08-06-2001, 12:19 PM this is the one that i did. it's Grrreat.. also if you need help on it the mailing list is awesome also lot's of helpful folks.. http://www.anders.com/projects/route66/ -ansiVirus *This is also the one from maximum linux wurmy 08-06-2001, 03:24 PM you can find the parts on pricewatch as well, probably get the stuff a little cheaper...that is if you can figure out exactly which parts you need. its a little more expensive that i was hoping for, but its still a really cool idea. ZinovyLR 08-06-2001, 03:40 PM Note: Ansivirus' post had a link to the website for Maximum Linux's Route 66 article which describes how to make the linux car mp3 players. www.anders.com (http://www.anders.com) is run by Anders Brownworth, a former member of the now dead Maximum PC magazine. Xprotocol 08-06-2001, 08:39 PM Here are two old topics and that link from maximum pc: http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/Forum22/HTML/003231.html http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/Forum22/HTML/003201.html http://www.maximumpc.com/route66/ BTW, that issue for the article in 2600 is volume 17 number 3. You should be able to buy back orders off their website. Does anyone know any good websites that sell old computers (probably used)? I don't want discount parts and stuff, I'm just looking for an old working computer that I can buy for like 10 bucks. Here are some sites I found. They're packed with information such as what to buy, where to buy it, what to use, etc. http://www.carplayer.com/ http://www.jacksonville.net/~amc/car.htm http://www.site-shop.com/~mitcht/ http://www.joethielen.com/cars/gps_mp3.html http://www.bertrandom.com/mp3_car/mp3_car.html http://home.austin.rr.com/sshipman/lorelei/ http://www.ryanspc.com/carmp3/ http://www.md2600.net/newsletter/issue3/214.html http://www.mp3car.com/ http://www.techtv.com/superguides/mp3/autoplayers/story/0,23008,2553546,00.html http://www.geocities.com/mp3_car/ justlinux.com
