hey i recently set up samba on my linux server in my basement so icould share a dir on the server with my windows pc is there any way to share a dir on my windows pc with the linux puter using samba or some other program??

Yes you can. It works in both directions.

Right. As long as you have file and print sharing services running on the Win box, just right-click on the folder/directory you want to share, select "properties", and go to the "sharing" tab.
