i've looked around the NHF's and have beenr eaind posts on this board and others on how to do this. nothing has helped so far.

i downloaded mosfet's liquid theme for kde. last night i uncompressed it and compiled it. now i have a folder in /home/user for the theme. when i try to use it through control center > look and feel > theme manager. it doens't see the theme file. i've checked manually and it is in there.

I've posted this same reply twice in the past few days.

./configure --prefix=/path/to/kde

Mine would be

./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3

Liquid has to be installed in the main KDE directory for the KDE Control Center to be able to find all the files.

env

will show you your KDE path.

I had the same problem and here is the exact commands I ran. Note: Liquid them will not be under "themes" in the control panel. It's under its own category call "liquid theme" under "look & feel"

./configure --with-qt-dir="/usr/lib/qt3"

make install prefix=/usr

I had trouble doing the regular ./configure and make install but this worked perfect for me!

Got this from www.kde-look.org under the forum section when you go to download the theme...

Not sure what all it does (though I have an idea) but it worked...
