Booting failure!

I just installed Redhat 6.2

When booting I get this message:

kernel panic
In swapper task - not syncing

Yes, I've seem the SAME error message posted here numerous times. You may want to do a search and perhaps find the answer. Have no idea myself. It may be just adding an option to /etc/lilo.conf

Im using:
athlon t-bird 750
abit kt7-rad mainboard
96mb sdram

Did you do the search as I suggested. Probably not or you would have found this.

put this append line after lilo... example
LILO: linux append="x86_serial_nr=1"

Took 2 minutes to find. Search capabilities must be the greatest invention of all time.

I did say in my first post that I had seen the same message posted here before and even gave you a hint about adding an option to lilo.conf ????

Sorry if I came off sounding rude.

You posted a couple of times after I suggested for you to do a search here for the answer (I know I had seen it here somewhere) and you asked me to continue searching. Just surprised you hadn't taken the time to find the solution when your system obviously would not boot.

I know this will be bumped back up to the top, but I'm always the first to admit if I'm wrong.

Well append="x86_serial_nr=1" didn´t work for me. By the way I´ve got ps2 mouse(actually usb converted to ps2)
