Hi,

Besides using Netscape (I have given up on it :p), what other news readers are there to support ssl?

Thanks

Now, I'm very eager to use slrn with ssl.
I have tried to edit my /etc/xinetd.conf:

==
service nntp
{
socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
wait = no
user = nobody
server = /usr/sbin/stunnel
server_args = -c -r news.comp.nus.edu.sg:563
}
==

And I have rerun the xinetd. However, when I tried to slrn, I still get this.

==
slrn 0.9.7.4 [2002-03-13]

Reading startup file /etc/slrn.rc.
Reading startup file /home/mingshun/.slrnrc.***Warning: Unable to find a unique fully-qualified host name.
slrn will not generate any Message-IDs.
Please note that the "hostname" setting does not affect this;
see the "slrn reference manual" for details.

Using newsrc file /home/mingshun/.jnewsrc for server news.comp.nus.edu.sg.
Connecting to host news.comp.nus.edu.sg ...
Failed to initialize server
Reason:
slrn fatal error:
Failed to initialize server.
==

Can anyone tell me what have I missed?
I'm trying very hard to get away from tin, which is the default newsreader in my school Unix system. Hence, I really appreciate if you can teach me how to slrn with ssl enabled.

Thanks

I like Pine as a news reader...
