Hi!
I've got a problem with XFree86 and Debian.
I tried to install XFree86 4.01 with the XInstall.sh-Script. I installed everything and it seemed to work fine. But then I noticed that some kernel modules for DRI weren't loaded and even weren't in the module-directory! The files came from my Distribution-CD(copy of a server-Directory). I had a backup of /usr/X11R6 and /etc/X11, of course. So I decided to reinstall X 3.3.6 again. I put the old data to /usr/X11R6 and /etc/X11, and when I started gdm everything looked to work fine except the mouse. Because it was late I turned my machine off. The next day when I booted it, gdm did not start! Ok, I reinstalled gdm some times and it didn't want to work. Because I am so lazy I tried kdm. I tried to open a Blackbox or KDE2 Session, but it didn't work. But when I start X from tty1 with
#startx
it works. Where is my problem??
TIA
