hey folks, lookin for some help with an ancient laptop, please read on --

like the title says, 8mb ram, 200mb hd:
i've got pygmy linux on it right now which works with dos, but i'd like something a bit more powerful [preferably full linux, screw bill]. i think the main constraint is the ram, but since pygmy's based on slack 3.6. i figure i could put the whole thing on it, but how? when i get on the slackware ftp, it's a1-11 or something and some n's and d's and x's...clarification please? actually any help at all would be great, thanks in advance.

I got slack on a laptop with 4mb of ram and a little more than 200mb of drive space. Using the A, N, and AP package sets (complete install), I am up to 130mb used space.

Check the 4mb Laptop HOWTO - it details on how to get the install done, since the install requires about 12mb of ram.

If you need more help, post some more.
