I've exported the /home directory on a linux box using NFS.
I've installed Services for Unix (SFU) 3.0 on a Win2k Professional workstation.
I can see the linux box and the /home folder in Network Neighborhood on the Win2k box. I can even browse some of the directories under the /home directory. But I can only browse those directories that have the others permission set to read (at least).
I really do not want to browse the directories, though. I want to access them based on user account names and passwords. When I try to access a directory I get a password dialog box, but even when I enter a correct name and password, I don't get it. I suspect that the Windows client for NFS is not passing the correct UID/GID information, and that it is an SFU configuration problem. But nothing so far that I've tried works.
Anybody here use Services for Unix to access NFS exported directories? Or have suggestions where I could go for help?
FWIW, Samba works just fine. But I'd really like to see NFS working with SFU.
