HJow do I tell my cmputer where my modem is? (e.g what file do I edit to tell my computer that my external modem is on COM2 (01)??

once i have done all i have to do is run pppsetup from console...correct?

What dialer are you planning on using? Redhat and gnome is easy, but all you said was that you're using an external modem, nothing else.

That makes it hard to figure out when you're dumb like me..
