Help with intellimouse pro on X-Window pleaaseee !!

Hi.... look, i´ve installed slackware 8.0 with X-Window and Gnome, but, when i try to use it, the mouse doesn´t work.
I´ve tried with everything, editing XF86Config even with the default ps/2 support (yes, my mouse is ps/2), and with imps2 too, but, can´t get it to work yet.
My kernel is the 2.2.19 version.
Any comments or help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure this is a problem with Slackware and not the mouse? does the mouse work on another machine? does it work on this one under another OS? do you get the mouse pointer displayed but it just doesn't move? If there is no mouse pointer, slackware may not know it has to load a mouse driver.

Try swaping around the mouse and keyboard in ye olde ps2 ports.

What device are you using? Mine wouldn't work with /dev/mouse, but it did work when I changed it to /dev/psaux

Also, I did have to use driver "ImPS/2".
