Autostarting in tray

I wanted 'kmix' to be in the tray in the taskbar in KDE when I logon. However, adding a link to kmix in the autostart folder opens the kmix panel on the desktop.

Is there a command switch perhaps or some other method I can use so that kmix autostarts docked in the tray?

Usually if I start the KDE sound mixer (Kmix) from the KDE menu under multimedia, it will stay in my tray even after a reboot until I right click on the kmix icon and select Quit.
