I see the unformatted space i researved for linux listed as Dos 16 bit type. I deleated it and use add to add the following partitions: / ,/swap, /user, /home and /boot. I have about 1.7 gig.. the problem the next button continued to be grayed out ,, so i can't continue

I think all you need to assign is /root and /swap and then it will allow continue. Seems like I had the same problem my first time out with that one.

Ummm. What do you mean why did I put fiber in at home? I just got bored, and the only way to make it better is to just make it complicated as hell, and then I forget I'm bored. What other reason for a segmented, routed, linux+Novell+NT+2000 hybrid ethernet/FDDI/Token ring network for your home is there?

I had the same problem in YellowDog Linux. I just went into pDisk, the PPC version of fdisk, typed pdisk L, hit return, then quit. I was able to go on. For some reason it will not let you go on until you run something on pdisk. I think it has to do with the RedHat installer for I think the same thing happened on Linuxppc.

Thanks man,
actually if you define the sawp partion in the text box as /swap you end up with a line in Druid window that says : /swap. and that won't activate the next button. you need to define the type using the partition type dropdown menue and click swap type, and you will end up with a line in the Druid window that says:<swap> and not /swap .And that will activate the next button
thanks again

i think it'll be much easier for you if you use fdisk to partiton your drive and then disk druid to mount them.
