I've installed Slackware 8.0 and have mostly everything that I want. One of the main things left is sharing my internet connection, and also using a dhcp server. I'm using the 2.4.5 kernel and thats about all I know. I know later on down the road that I want to get Samba up and running. Should I do this along with ICS and DHCP, or do them seperate?

Thanks,
Jason

I installed RH 7.1 and have another PC installed Win98 SE. Win98 box connected to internet with internet connection sharing installed. After I finish RH7.1 installation, re-boot, login, the LINUX box is on-line already (even before I do any setup). For internet sharing, u don't need samba

Samba doesn't have anything to do with DCHP or Internet Connection Sharing to my knowledge. I just was wondering if I should go ahead and set that up along with DHCP and Internet Connection Sharing now, so that it would make it easier on me in the long run. I have to run Internet Connection Sharing on THIS machine, which is a Linux box that will serve to Windows, not a Windows box thats serves to Linux.
