iam using a redhat 7.2 with 2.4.7 kernel.
i have recently installed

do i need to edit some files in order to make it accept ipv6 addresses.?

You may want to check to see if port 23 is open, I found that mine was closed when I ran into the same problem.

hi solved the prob :)
thx for ur suggestion but my problem was different
i did netstat -nlptu to see if the port was locked (i think this was the way i could find out if the port was locked...)
anyway the problem was that the line NETWORKING_IPV6=yes was not there in /etc/sysconfig/network

thx again.

telnet bad, ssh good.
