Happy Holidays everyone.

Here's my problem...

I get Mandrake 7.2 properly setup to use @HOME cable access to the internet.

Everything works just great after I get it setup in my current session... but... once I reboot the machine I can no longer access the internet.

There is a failure during boot regarding 'eth0'...

My network card is a contsant at ADDR: 240 IRQ:3

COM2, of course, is disabled in the BIOS.

Anybody have any ideas why this may be.

A small note: I'm not positive yet if it's simple rebooting or rebooting into Windows then later rebooting back into Linux. In case that may mean anything.

Thanks.

-Bruce

PS. BTW... I followed the instructions as specified in the NHF.

Can you manually restart the network after a reboot with
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network start
??

If so then a quick fix may be to stick that line in at the end of your rc.local file.

I had to use this fix on 'drake 7.1 but the installation of 'drake 7.2 did it automatically.

I found to have the same problem with @home and my 3com 509b card. I could get the internet running by typing "dhcpcd -h c*****-a etho0" But on reboot I would lose my connection, I added a line to my etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
after the line IPADDR=********
I added DHCP_HOSTNAME="c*******-a"
Works like a charm now...Hope this helps
btw..I also use mandrake 7.2.
