heres the scenario i want to happen...very basic

first i have windows XP...i also want to dual boot with red hat 7

normally when i had 98..when installing Red Hat it gives me a choice on where to instal LILO...but now because i have win xp it desnt give me that option anymore and i have to use a boot disk to get to LINUX...

question: how can i get LILO to give me the dual boot option of getting to win xp or Red Hat?

thanks!

I have never used XP, but this is how I would do it on my 98/RH7.1 system. XWindows, use a lilo configuration program. KDE and GNOME both have it, but it make take some looking to find. in KDE it's in the KDE pop up menu in KDE menus -> settings -> system -> boot manager (LILO). It's quit easy to configure LILO from there, otherwise, without KDE or GNOME utilities, you will have to learn about the lilo.conf file in /etc It's not hard to do this, but maybe not something you want to spend your time doing.

fYI.

Type man lilo.conf for info on the valid syntax, settings, etc for your lilo.conf file.
