Been trying to install redhat 7.3 for a few days but keeping getting stuck :( .

It keeps stopping the install saying theres a error ( Media failure , Lack of space or hardware problems ) . I dont think the media is bad or lack of space ( 13Gig HD ) so other one is hardware . Running a amd k62 550 meg , voodoo banshee , gigabyte MB .

Errors ive got so far have been .

-Xawtv -3.73-3
-Xfree86-devel-4.2.0-8
-Xscreensaver-3.33-4
-tetex-1.0.7-47

Each time ive unchecked them on install and then found another new error leading to the last one tetex . When i tried to uncheck tetex is listed alot of dependencies so decided to stop the install :( .

Im new to linux but learning alot already hehe .

If anyone has any ideas on the problem it would be very appreciated . I really dont want to have to reinstall windows , YUK .

Sounds like you may be having problems with your memory chips or you may have a bad CD. If the packages that are bad change, then it is most likely memory related. If the packages are exactly the same, then it is most likely a bad CD.

Also have you allocated enough space for the installation requirements?
