I am planning on reinstalling my laptop in the next 24-48 hours once I get my backup off it. My choice in distrib will be slackware 8.1 and it will be dual boot.

What I want to know is, has anyone successfully configured slackware 8.0/8.1 to work easily with IPng/IPv6 ? Do any files require updating? (I did try to get ipv6 configured once before but it never seemed to want to work?)

I am hoping the latest release of slackware will solve the issues I had before. If the trial run is successful on the laptop with the 6bone, then I will be upgrading my server (main box) and will configure it to run as well.

anyone out there able to assist with this endeavour?

Many thanks

Before you upgrade to IPV6, I would suggest you contact your ISP to see if they support it yet. You might be surprised.

The probability of Bell Canada supporting a 'alpha' technology is slim to .. not likely? I talked to a variety of tech's there and most of them didnt even have it on their radar.

Besides, they are happy chargin for ip4 access to the net, and insisting they dont sell static ip's unless you purchase some ungodly expensive package.

Then why the interest in upgrading?

because I can use the 6to4 tunnel and gain soon to be valuable(hopefully) experience in ipv6 that way.
