I am having a bear oif a time trying to install anything at all.

I am using redhat 7.3 and cannot for the life of me figure out how to install any software whatsoever! I am a newbie to linux but not to programming.

Please give a brother some help.

For a newbie, I suggest installing Red Carpet (http://www.ximian.com/products/ximian_red_carpet/download.html) and using it for installing and uninstalling.

Software can be daunting at first.

Thanks for the hint. I am trying to dl it now. I am using the links command from the command line to dl the ximina desktop app.

I will try to get the red carpet one now too.

Thanks again.

Red Carpet will be on your menu when ximian finishes installing. :D It makes handling software in Redhat much easier.

Enjoy the ride!

Just so you know, 22 minutes is not that long of a wait.

Some questions here go 12 hours before they are answered.

Just be patient and I'm sure one of the volunteers will get to your question.

BTW... The time you posted this question, I was sound asleep. :D
