How could I start KDE? Dun'kalis 07-29-2002, 06:30 PM Type startx and you will go to X. You'll want to then start KDE, and some KDE people will have to help you, since I'm a GNOME guy. Tomlenen 07-29-2002, 06:33 PM Whenever I type startx it gives an error saying that I have to configure my X or something? ralph wiggum 07-29-2002, 06:44 PM get all the information you can on your video card and monitor then do xf86config easy-piecy, japaneasy. dogn00dles 07-29-2002, 11:56 PM Maybe xwmconfig, if you haven't selected a default, or you could just edit the .xinitrc file if it's not in there for some strange reason. Also, if it doesn't support your video card, you can re-install slackware and choose framebuffer console boot (the very last option, i believe). justlinux.com
