Running KDE on Slackware

I recently installed the new version of 'Slackware Linux' but every time I boot my linux box it boots up in the command line mode. How could I start KDE?

Type startx and you will go to X. You'll want to then start KDE, and some KDE people will have to help you, since I'm a GNOME guy.

Whenever I type startx it gives an error saying that I have to configure my X or something?

get all the information you can on your video card and monitor then do xf86config

Maybe xwmconfig, if you haven't selected a default, or you could just edit the .xinitrc file if it's not in there for some strange reason. Also, if it doesn't support your video card, you can re-install slackware and choose framebuffer console boot (the very last option, i believe).
