hi
i have a few questions real quick
first is it possable to build a small base lfs system on a 250mb zipdisk (enough to begin the process on a already partitioned second hard disk ill explain..
currently i have slackware 8 installed on my second hard drive the table looks like this
/dev/hdb1 256mb linux swap
/dev/hdb2 1gb /
/dev/hdb3 15gb /usr
/dev/hdb4 13gb /home
the zip disk is /dev/hdc4
now what im thinking is
1 install the very bare base lfs system on the zip disk to where it can be booted
2 from there begin building the main lfs system on the disk all the way
3 after its all set up and the boot scripts are done remove the zip and allow lilo to work it magic a new lfs system on the disk (and a zip still ready to do it again if need be)
the reason i ask is from what i read LFS is the best way to learn and understand linux
thats what im going for
so sence the 2 posts i found related to this subject yeilded no answers can it be done has it been done?
secondly after the install of slack 8 i noticed alot of stuff id like to remove i read somthing about package tool or pkgtool
basically i want to trim down my current system to a much leaner state for example how do i remove those games
anyhow that about does it for now ill have my face burried in the lfs book as i try to make sence of it all :)
thanx in advance for the help :)
