How did you do it ?

I've been struggling with this for ages. I'm no networking wiz, as you can tell, but I really need to have my winxp system access files on my linux server.

I also need to be able to pull up a browser window on my xp machine and test cgi scripts and other web things hosted on the linux box.

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks. :)

You should read the documentation that came with the program. It should tell you how to set it up: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/start.html

Dogtags,

The easiest way to share files between Windoze and linux machines is by using Samba.

You can get it HERE (http://www.samba.org)

As for testing CGI scripts and other goodies.....install Apache web server on the Linux box.

You can get it HERE (http://www.apache.org)

to see the Linux gui on windows machine, use VNC. To share the files, use Samba. VNC will take some tweaking, but not bad.
