I have Caldera Open Linux 4.0, It has no support for udma 66, is there any one familiar with that distrib, who knows if their is a patch I could install to get it to boot off a Highpoint Udma 66 controller without recompiling the kernel? or could some one point me to a distrib I could DL, that has udma 66 pre supported?
Also does any one know where I could get info on Be Os?

There's a UDMA/66 kernel on my Slackware 7.1 CD. I also hear Mandrake 7.2 supports such harddrives.

Go to www.be.com (http://www.be.com) for information about BeOS.

I used the documentation for ATA66 here http://linux.nf/stepbystep.htm to setup my Promise ATA100 on eDesktop 2.4 and all works fine.

i dont know if its accepted to have 2 addys one for home and one for work, but the addy that i started this with, is a lotus addy i cant read from home. and seeing as how theres a huge snow storm, here in ct for the next 3 days, i wont be getting into work.

I havent had sense to check caldera's site. but i will in a second.

Phillk... What are you talking about? All patches/updates concerning Caldera are available from either the knowledgebase area or their ftp site. All of their iso's are also available for free download.

Don't know where your looking...

If you want an updated kernel, go to kernel.org like most others. Caldera will not have the 2.3 kernel available on their site because it is still under development. The same went for Xfree4 and KDE2 as Caldera would not release a Caldera specific version until they were 'stable' and they have a chance to test the new versions. I fully agree with their reasoning.

ArkAoss... As for the ATA66 support. Follow the procedures from that website and all should work.

THERE IS A HIGHPOINT 66 DRIVER FOR BeOS! http://www.bebits.com/app/1261

I wish people would do some research before assuming BeOS doesn't have something.
