PyQt

I would like to program using qt and python. I was reading the book at http://www.opendocspublishing.com/pyqt/ and you have to have the pyqt and the sip packages installed. These come with redhat and suse, but not with mandrake/cooker. I have tried downloading both packages but always get errors compiling them and I can't seem to math the correct versions for the rpms.

Anyone else have any experience with python/qt on mandrake?
