Hi,
I had to remove LILO(fdisk /mbr) bcoz i dont know what i did(:confused :) and the system wont boot.so i booted into windows98 using the win boot disk i had.but now i wld like to go into linux.how do i reinstall LILO without reinstalling Linux.i dont have a linux boot disk.searched and found this

1.how can i boot with the distro CD and copy images to floppy?
2.what is 8.3 naming?

What distribution are you using? You should have been prompted to create a rescue/boot disk during installation. If you did this, pop that in and start up your computer. Once you're logged in, run "lilo" and that will restore it.

If you don't have a boot disk, or even if you do, you can boot to your install cd and select upgrade, lilo being the only thing you select to upgrade.

Hi,
Thanks for that response.I dont have Linux Boot disk.I have managed ti installed dragon linux in my win partition.now am able to access all the data in my linux partition.i also have loadlin.
can i copy loadlin and the boot image from my linux partition to the Win boot disk.and boot from that and use loadlin to boot up Linux?.
Sorry if all that sounds confused.
