DRI and GLX

Has anybody got any luck with the DRI thingie? I dont understand it really, do you need to download their cvs-x thingie or is it possible to use it without recompiling the entire X?

You need to get either binaries or source from xfree86.org or source from dri.sourceforge.net to have direct rendering infrastructure working under linux.DRI stuff has more recent sources eg. radeon's,mga400 and voodoo 4,5 which later on they are incorported into main xfree source.Hope this helps
