Someone please explain that thing to me. I have random .signature working, but I have (RH6.2) a couple dozen sets of fortunes, each with an ascci component and a data component. What's that? What happens if I remove about 3/4 of those? Some are a bit offensive, other uninteresting to me.

man fortune.

fortune is a db of somewhat off the wall comments, quips, quotes, and apocryphal stories .... meant to lighten your day..

I would modify my sig to not use the fortune program to generate a sig.
