I have this problem, i cannot use usb connection with kppp! (By the way,
the reason i wanna use that, is because when i use parell, the speed is very
slow,(56k) and if i try to raise it,(above 110k the connection wont
complete - Stucks in initialising modem)

I think the problem is that i fscked up the dev/usb/ttyACM0 file, when
i was trying to ln -s it in dev/modem , i think i did exactly the oposeite
(overwrite the ACM0 with /modem) because when i delete dev/modem,
and make the link over, kppp uses parell connection!

So what do i do? Is there any way i can get ttyACM0 again? Also is
this NOT the problem?

Also note that altho redhat had the option in kppp menu to select /dev/usb/ttyACM0
mandrake has only /dev/ttySx s, and /dev/modem

Also note that under win and redhat i am/was able to use usb connect!

Thanks!

I'm still trying to figure out USB in Linux :p

Makeing a sym link will not overwrite any files, it won;t let you. If you try it will complain and not do it (I've found this out the hard way, I always get the syntax reversed :))

Do you have the USB working?
Can you restore these files anyway? I always like to back things up before I mess with it so I can go back to what I knew worked :)

He he yeah i have the syntax reversed too! Well when i kate the file ttyACM0 the only things are:

OK

Mysterious???

Also under redhat, there was the option to ttyACM0 in kppp, and it worked sweet!

Can someone send me ttyACM0 ? LoL >>>i have to reinstall linux <<<

EDIT By Moderators: (booo go back to win n00b)
