Thanks Mr.Shifty 08-21-2001, 08:09 PM i think if u right click in your desktop u will see a drop down with what u should be looking for just a guess. newbie here :) scoutt 08-21-2001, 08:26 PM once you make a shortcut like you do for the cdroms then you can go into properties and choose another icon as it has a whole lis tof them. Siskmarek 08-21-2001, 09:33 PM You'll find all the information you need in the Zip drive howto over at linuxdoc.org. Just to give you an idea... know that you: - Need to get your system seeing the zip drive (i.e. modprobe ppa if it's a parallel port zip drive). - Create entries under /mnt (or wherever) and /etc/fstab so it will continue to see it through reboot after reboot, and.... - Create an icon on your desktop linking to /mnt/zip (or wherever you want to put it). Configuring your zip drive for "supermounting" is nice, too. Good luck! ~ Siskie justlinux.com
