you can download the linux kernel from
www.runix.ru (http://www.runix.ru)
but has anyone tried it? If you have did you get it to work?
Interesting idea, just goes to prove how flexible linux can be if nothing else. The site doesnt really give much info on what's required or how to do it, you've got to d/l the files beforehand. Supposedly there are instructions included. The forum is in Russian, so no help there (for me at least).
I would imagine you'd have to mod the PS somehow to do this, like you would to replace a chip to get it to play CDR copies of PS games....

Curious, but I really wonder how useful this will turn out to be. At the moment I don't believe the PSX really has much in the way of hardware that makes this modification of much use.
I suppose that might change in the future, but I sometimes wonder about the guys that spent all that time building the kernel for this, and what the original design was supposed to be for... I guess when it comes to computers I've never subscribed to the "because it was there" theory, but I suppose if you really loved to code and were looking for a challenge that would be one... lol.
