LPI, RHCE, LCA or LINUX+ ...

though i got other certs, i not much like them than holding a linux cert: ....
i'm v.much want to get the linux certs: ...

I don't know what exam is easiest but I can tell you that I've decided to pursue the LPI certs simply because they seem to be focused on "core" linux knowledge and steer clear of distro-specific stuff. I'm taking the exam next Saturday 1/6/00 and am studing out of various pdf files I've downloaded.

I've seen that Redhat offers some impressive training courses for their RHCE track but I don't know if you feel like spending that kind of money. I guess I've decided that I'll obtain LPI on my own (because I want to) and if my company ever gets serious about linux, I'll let them pay for the RHCE.

I just got 4 linux books from this site today for under $10. There's a good selection of books here that relate to either certification track mentioned above.

I guess theirs also something out there called SAIR certification but I haven't come across a ton of information about it (even though I believe it's the oldest linux certifcation track out there). Perhaps someone on this board has more information about this?

good luck!

AFAIK, RHCE costs $ 6,999 for each modules and the exam costs about $ 600 each. I'm not sure there is three or four modules to be an RHCE. I've seen some places offer $ 4,999 but I'm not sure they are RH certified training centers or not.
