smtp commented out in /etc/inetd but still shown as open!

Running Storm Linux (debian) 2.2.16

smtp is commented out in the /etc/inetd file yet it still shows up as OPEN(!) when my system is port scanned.

And this is after rebooting even!

Any ideas?

Are you running an smtp daemon? They usually don't run through inetd.conf .
