In my neverending quest to get everything working and updated in Linux, I've come to situations where I have no choice but to browse inside an FTP site to get what I need. I currently use Mozilla, and... and... whenever I try to open an ftp site, it just stays there loading forever and it never displays any contents!!! I am connected through a proxy since another computer is the one connected (and the proxy configuration is correct on my browser) so I really don't know how to fix this.. I need ftp access!

How about wxftp?

If you ever used wsftp in Windows, you'll recognize the interface in less than a second.

i've always been partial to IglooFTP (and have even purchased a license for it). If you've ever used BulletproofFTP under windows you might like this.

FileRunner gets my vote. Simple and quick. It's also my weapon of choice for a filemanager.
