I downloaded linux mandrake 7.2. And am trying to install it on a second hard drive.
it installs the packages hafe way then says somthing about ("Error no hdlist") then restarts and setting up the hard drive again.

My computer is setup like this.

Asus 3400 Riva TnT 16meg Sgram tv-in tv-out

frist hard drive
30gig.. WD
second hard drive
2gig.. SeaGate this one for linux.

one 50x cd-rom
one 12x10x32 cd-rw PlexWriter

qic- 80 tape drive

5 1/4 floopy drive: Don't Ask.
3 1/2 floppy drive: 1.44

d-link 10/100Mbps ethernet Pci Adapter (530TX)

2 Lava prallel cards

win-tv card

96megs of ram.

also when i get tough the packages it ask me to make a boot disk.. i try it but it never starts the drive

What motherboad do you have? You may have problems if the HDD is plugged in to a seperate UDMA controler.

The mother board is a M5he version 2 SOYO..

Running a 500mkz amd k6-2..

both hard drive are on the same port.
