D|s ethereal 08-21-2001, 02:00 PM This changes by the program you use, as does pasting. For straight text, it's copied by just selecting it. You can then paste by clicking the middle mouse button. A little weird at first but it's really nice after you get used to it. cage47 08-21-2001, 07:23 PM Why such a complicated answer to such a simple question? Ctrl-C Copy Ctrl-X Cut Ctrl-V Paste Ctrl-S Save (as per the old windows control keys, but they still work in Mandrake 8) GarbledSquirrell 08-21-2001, 07:30 PM Originally posted by cage47: <STRONG>Why such a complicated answer to such a simple question? Those keys aren't guaranteed to work for any Linux distro, but the middle-click paste is. Those key shortcuts MIGHT work with your distro and maybe even the distro of the person who asked the question, but they are not GUARANTEED to work. frank754 08-21-2001, 10:35 PM Here's another one.. related to this, if I open different browser windows, in Konqueror, for example, why does the copied clipboard text not able to be pasted on the other browser window or email client? Does Klipboard or some other KDE program override this problem? justlinux.com
