Please help me put Mandrake on my Laptop!!

Well the problem is whenever i try and install mandrake 8.0 onto my lappy (p111 800 advent) it goes well until i get to the x config when i have to select a screen it seems whatever i choose it just crashes and when i boot it to see if the install has finished (well hoping) all i get is the cli and ive tried the startx command and all i get is another error msg

What is the error message?

Have you checked to see if the video chipset is supported by the version of X you are using?
