hi , i am running MD 8.0

im having a slight problem i think with installing the glib and gtk

i downloaded 1.2.9 and i think i installed it correctly

./configure
make
make install
(i was logged in as root from xterm)

but when i go to instal gtk it gives me this error

checking for glib-config... /usr/local/bin/glib-config
checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.8...
*** 'glib-config --version' returned 1.2.9, but GLIB (1.2.10)
*** was found! If glib-config was correct, then it is best
*** to remove the old version of GLIB. You may also be able to fix the error
*** by modifying your LD_LIBRARY_PATH enviroment variable, or by editing
*** /etc/ld.so.conf. Make sure you have run ldconfig if that is
*** required on your system.
*** If glib-config was wrong, set the environment variable GLIB_CONFIG
*** to point to the correct copy of glib-config, and remove the file config.cache
*** before re-running configure
no
configure: error:
*** GLIB 1.2.8 or better is required. The latest version of GLIB
*** is always available from ftp://ftp.gtk.org/.

but i just installed 1.2.9 :|

is it possible i didnt install it tot he right place or something ?

Uninstall both of the components and then install them again. I got the same message with MDK 8 when i tried to install without uninstalling the two components before. When i did a fresh install of MDK 8 on my machine i uninstalled the ones that came with MDK and it worked fine. However for you it might be a different story but try uninstalling and then installing again.
