all my icons have dissapeared off my Gnome desktop

Anyone got a clue as to why all my desktop icons and programs presets have dissappeared off my Gnome desktop in RH7.3? I still have wallpaper and a taskbar working just dandy. Where's the beef? I can't seem to drag and drop to just replace them either. Thank you for your help.

it sounds like nautilus is not working

delete the following file from your home directory:

~/.nautilus

after that, check if you have files in ~/Desktop

If so, then no problem, just reboot. should be fine.

Still not working? delete ~/.gnome

This will remove all your previous gnome settings though

It was in fact Nautilus causing the problem....but all I had to do was close a few sticky windows and return to my desktop. Problem solved...Thanks a bunch!
